Harris Stratex Networks, a provider of wireless network solutions, formally opened its international headquarters in Singapore on Wednesday.

The company also disclosed plans to create a research and development operation in Singapore.

Asif Rahman will lead the international operation as vice president and general manager, the company said.

"Our new IHQ in Singapore further demonstrates the commitment of Harris Stratex Networks in meeting the needs of our global customer base," said Chief Executive Officer Guy Campbell. "It significantly strengthens our global presence and our commitment to being a major player in Asia and adjacent regions.”

Harris Stratex Networks has 12 employees in Singapore and plans to add another 50 or so over the next two to three years.
