Monolith Capital Partners is off to a quick start in Atlanta.

The new early stage venture capital and strategic advisory firm is still raising money but has already invested $1.5 million in IntelliOne Technology Corp. The firm is focused on global positioning systems.

Monolith, which has won investments from several individual angel investors, plans as many as eight investments over the next year, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Leaders of the firm include Stacey Anderson, who once worked at The Capital Group in Los Angeles and earned her MBA at Emory University; Steven Fanning, a former executive with RBC Capital Partners; Mark Hoffman, a former executive at Arthur Andersen; and Patrick Emmeck, who most recently served as a co-founder and partner in a global shipping technology startup.
