DiscRevolt, a startup focused on digital music legal issues, has landed $1.5 million in financing from angels.

The funding was reported in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

DiscRevolt’s Web site recently received a third place award in the 2007 Web 2.0 Awards program even though its Web site is still in beta.

The company sells download cards to independent musicians. They in turn sell the cards to fans and listeners as well as concert crowds. The cards are designed for each artists. Songs can be downloaded from the DiscRevoly Web site.

Mike Shamus, a musician and the firm’s chief executive officer, and Joe Kirk, a former associate publisher of an entertainment magazine, founded the firm.
