The county commissioners in Cabarrus County voted 3-2 this week to support bond financing as part of the massive North Carolina Research Campus being built in Kannapolis.

The board voted 3-2 in favor of the financing, according to the Independent Tribune in Concord. The bonds would total up to $169 million.

The city of Kannapolis had been seeking county support in raising financing for infrastructure improvements related to the $1.5 billion campus project being built by billionaire David Murdock.
