Accuitive Medical Ventures, an investor in early-stage medical device firms, has raised $175 million in new funding, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

That’s $25 million more than the firm had planned to raise, the newspaper reported.

The firm raised $50 million in 2004. It is looking to make 20 investments with the new funding, according to the Chronicle.

AMV has offices in Atlanta and Rochester, Minn. The firm also works with The Innovation Factory, a medical device incubator in Atlanta.
