WCPE, the FM radio station known worldwide for its Internet-based distribution of classical music, will receive some additional exposure tonight on the Discovery Channel.

The program “Hazard Pay” will feature host Curt Doussett climbing the WCPE tower near Wake Forest. The tower is massive, standing 1,200 feet.

Hazard Pay airs at 8 p.m.

WCPE 89.7 recently documented that its Web distribution is heard in all seven continents. For conventional listeners, the tower enables widespread distribution across North Carolina.

In the cable program, Doussett climbs the tower and is put to work as a maintenance worker for the station. Hazard Pay profiles some of the more dangerous – and thrilling – jobs around the world.
