Software giant Oracle has confirmed its acquisition of Atlanta-based AppForge, which developed mobile data applications.

In an e-mail to Red Herring magazine, an Oracle spokesperson wrote: "Oracle has acquired the intellectual property assets of AppForge, a company formerly based in Atlanta with a mobile application development and mobile applications platform.”

No financial terms were disclosed.

AppForge shut down in March. Its Web site now takes visitors to Oracle.

The company raised some $24 million in venture capital since 2001. Backers included C&B Capital, New Atlantic Ventures, Sinclair Ventures and Grosvenor Funds, according to PE Week Wire.
