Fifteen hospitals, including 14 belonging to the Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance, have signed on to use drug repackaging services from Unit Dose Solutions.
The Coastal Carolinas alliance includes New Hanover Regional medical Center and Southeastern Regional Medical Center. The other hospitals are located across the Carolinas.
Unit Dose also recently signed contracts with St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri; St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.; and Doctor’s Hospital in Dallas.
The company repackages a majority of a hospital’s drug inventory into individual doses, which receive bar codes and additional label information.
