River Cities Capital Funds, a venture firm with an office in Raleigh, has closed on a new fund and also received an investment from the Ohio Capital Funds.

The Ohio Capital Funds, which is a $150 million fund created by the state if Ohio and managed by Buckeye Venture Partners, chose River Cities as one of five VC firms for its latest round of investments. The fund has made nine deals worth $43.5 million since it closed last October.

The amount of each investment was not disclosed, but they range between $2 million and $10 million, according to Crain’s Cleveland Business.

The Ohio Capital Funds investments were disclosed on Tuesday.

Earlier, River Cities said it had closed on some $80 million for a fourth fund that could reach as much as $200 million.

River Cities already has more than $350 million under investments. Among its portfolio companies is Research Triangle Park-based SciQuest.
