Funcom is granting players an early chance to play the massively multiplayer online (MMO) game “Age of Conan” with a beta release.

Funcom, which is working with Eidos on the project, began accepting beta sign-ups on Tuesday. The Conan title won’t officially be released until later this year.

Gaute Godager, founder of Funcom, is the game director for Age of Conan. Godager called the game “the most brutal MMO ever created.”

Funcom bases its U.S. operations in Durham.
