AUGUSTA, Ga. – T-Mobile USA, a provider of wireless services, will build a customer care center in Augusta and hire more than 750 people to man it, the company said Friday.

The center, which will cover 78,000 square feet, is to open this fall.

“Our customer service employees play a vital role in our company’s success,” said John Birrer, group vice president of customer service for T-Mobile USA. “The service mentality of Augusta is a perfect match with T-Mobile’s values, as we help our customers stay connected to those who matter most to them every day.”

The company said it considered locations in several states before picking Augusta.

T-Mobile USA is based in Bellevue, Wash.

Last October, Automatic Data Processing said it would build a business solutions center and hire some 1,000 people in Augusta.
