ATLANTA – Sterling Planet, a provider of energy credits, has landed $7 million in Series B financing from Low Carbon Accelerator, an investment firm based in London.

The deal was facilitated by Dragonfly Capital, a boutique investment bank based in Charlotte.

Sterling Plant provides solar, wind and other renewable energy in the United States through the sale of renewable energy certificates, energy efficiency credits and carbon credits to businesses and residential customers. The certificates and credits are offered through partnerships Sterling Plant has with electric utilities.

Low Carbon Accelerator focuses on investments in businesses that provide low-carbon products and services. It has raised more than $90 million.

Dragonfly Capital, which also has an office in New York City, was founded in 2000.
