RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – John Crites, chief executive officer at MCNC, has resigned.
Crites, a longtime executive with Rockwell International, was chief information officer at RTI International before taking the MCNC position. He plans to return to consulting, an MCNC spokesperson told WRAL Local Tech Wire.
MCNC’s board of directors will meet on Monday to discuss a replacement.
MCNC develops and operates the North Carolina Research and Education Network and also provides other data and information technology services. It also is actively involved in research and development efforts for next-generation networks.
