CHARLOTTE, N.C. – PokerTek’s automated PokerPro tables are about to get a great deal more international exposure.
Princess Cruises said on Friday that it would install the automated poker tables from the Charlotte company on its fleet. The decision comes after a trial period in which PokerPros were put in place on three cruise liners.
"We continue to be impressed with how quickly the Princess guests learn to play PokerPro and how reliable the product has proven itself," said Rodney Dofort, vice president of casino operations for the cruise line, in a statement released by PokerPro.
Princess Cruises said it planned to install 22 tables by the end of 2007.
PokerPro tables are used in a variety of casinos in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa as well as several cruise lines.
