BUFORD, Ga, – Theragenics, a developer of medical devices for use in cancer treatment and other surgical products, earned $6.6 million, or 20 cents per share, on revenues of $54.1 million in 2006, the company reported Tuesday.

“In many ways we have just completed our best year,” said M. Christine Jacobs, Thereagenics’ chief executive officer. “2006 was our highest annual revenue ever, and the fourth quarter was our highest quarterly revenue ever.”

In the fourth quarter, Theragenics reported $14.8 million in revenues, up 30 percent from the same quarter in 2005, and net income of $3.7 million vs. a $236,000 loss the previous year.

For 2005, Theragenics lost $29 million.
