KIRKLAND, Wash. – Clearwire, a provider of WiMax wireless broadband services, has picked Scott Richardson as its new chief strategy officer.

Richardson’s most recent position was as vice president of the Mobility Group at Intel as well as general manager of the firm’s Service Provider Business Group. He has been actively involved in development of Intel’s WiMax efforts.

Richardson worked at Intel for 19 years.

Clearwire recently launched its WiMax service in the Research Triangle market area in North Carolina. It also offers service across the Triad.
