Lulu, a provider of self-publishing services ranging from hard-back books to CDs and comic books, has picked Hosted Solutions to provide co-location services.
The multi-year contract is worth $1.3 million, Hosted Solutions said.
“Our entire business is conducted online, so we were looking for a co-location provider that had the capacity to grow with our business and that can provide us with 100% network availability,” said Bill Montgomery, of Lulu.com.
Under the agreement, Hosted Solutions will provide Lulu with a large, secured environment for equipment, network services and a first right of refusal for additional “caged” space.
“Lulu needed a local partner who could meet their current and long-term needs,” said Rich Lee, Hosted Solutions’ chief executive officer. “We provided them with a flexible technology solution that guarantees network availability and can expand with their fast growing business.”
Lulu was founded in 2002 by Bob Young, one of the co-founders of Red Hat software.
Hosted Solutions has data centers in Raleigh, Cary, Charlotte and Boston, Mass.
