Ron Kupferman, the first chief executive officer of Peopleclick, is returning to the job.

Kupferman, who also is chairman of the Peopleclick board, is taking over as CEO from Stephen Sasser. Sasser has resigned, the company said Thursday. No reason was cited for the change.

Peopleclick, a provider of workforce acquisition services, was founded in 1997 and has more than 300 employees.

Sasser was named CEO in April of 2003.

“We sincerely thank Steve for his contributions to our past success,” Kupferman said in a statement. “I am excited to help guide Peopleclick to the next level and build upon our founding vision of customer-centric software and services.”

Sasser came to Peopleclick after serving as CEO of Frontstep, a software company.

Peopleclick has more than 1,800 clients in 192 countries for its software-as-a-service solution that helps clients recruit, hire and retain employees. Customers include 54 members of the Fortune 100.
