RALEIGH, N.C. — Salix Pharmaceuticals has received approval from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in the United Kingdom to sell its colonoscopy prep pill known as Diacol.
Diacol received U.S. regulatory approval in March and is marketed as OsmoPrep.
The colon-cleansing pills are intended for use by adults ages 18 and over in preparation for a colonoscopy.
Salix is also seeking approval to sell the pills in Australia and Japan.
