RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Integrian, a developer of mobile video technology solutions, has made its third acquisition in two years, buying RTP-based Signal Innovations Group.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Both companies are privately held.
Signal Innovations Group, or SIG, has worked with the U.S. military to develop target recognition algorithms for air, ground and sea operations. The firm also has developed analytic tools for use with video systems that emphasize intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

“The technology developed by SIG is extremely innovative and the most powerful we have seen on the market,” said Integrian Chief Technology Officer Brad Silvernail. “It is an adaptive approach for pattern recognition and decision analysis that can easily be modified for new applications.”

SIG applications can learn and create classifications for normal activities tools and then identify atypical behaviors or objects.
Integrian bought Digital Safety technologies in March of 2005 and Austrlia-based Innovonics later that year.
