RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Privately held Stiefel Laboratories, which is moving its research and development headquarters to RTP, has named Larry Staubach as its vice president for global medical affairs and pharmacovigilance.

The position is a new one for Stiefel, which is based in Florida. Stiefel is foicused on dermatology products.

Staubach will be based in RTP. He has worked earlier in his career at Procter & Gamble, Marion Merrell Dow and TAP Pharmaceuticals. Staubach received a degree in medicine from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters degree in business from Xavier University.

Stiefel also opened a new facility in Duluth, Ga., last week. The company maintains its U.S. and global sales and marketing teams in Duluth. The new building covers 108,000 square feet.
