The Raleigh-Cary metro area is the place to be if you are a female entrepreneur, according to a new study from an online business resource firm.

After a two-part study, AllBusiness.com said Raleigh-Cary is the “ideal” place for women who want to start or grow a business.

A survey included responses from 700 small- and medium-sized business executives. Those surveyed sited six key attributes: low crime rate, low property tax rates, high household income, modest real estate prices, rapid population growth and pedestrian-friendly.

The second part of the study included analysis of federal and local government data to identify what metros best reflected those six attributes as well as economic growth and business incubation. Raleigh-Cary finished ahead of four metro areas in Utah among the top five on the final list.
