RALEIGH, N.C. — The new biotech complex being built at the former site of a textile plant in Kannapolis, N.C. will cost North Carolina taxpayers millions of dollars, according to a report in The News & Observer on Saturday.
The University of North Carolina system plans to seek $26 million next year from The General Assembly for staffing and facilities, The N&O said, citing drafts of legal agreements.
