RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Smart Online has added three business executives to its board of directors.

James Meese is president of Business Development Associates and has worked with companies as a consultant since 1989. He focuses on company valuations, acquisitions and divestitures, market development, corporate governance, capital acquisition, strategic planning, exit strategies and organizational structuring. He also will lead Smart Online’s audit committee.

Shlomo Elia is a director and founder of 3Pen Ltd., an Israel-based investment and management company. He is a retired general from the Israeli Defense Forces. Among his posts was as military governor for the West Bank.

Philippe Pouponnot is the director of Azur Management, working with banks and brokers in all phases of investment management, including administrative, investment, and commercial transactions.

The three join Jeff LeRose, who is chairman of the board. None of the four work for Smart Online. The other board members include Smart Online’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Nouri and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Furr.
