ROCK HILL, S.C. — 3D Systems Corporation opened its new headquarters and research and development center in Rock Hill on Wednesday.

3D, which focuses on printing, prototyping and manufacturing solutions based on 3-D technology, relocated to South Carolina from California and Colorado.

The new facility covers 80,000 square feet.

“The successful move to this facility, which we concluded over the past weekend, represents a significant milestone for our company,” said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems’ chief executive officer. “We believe that our investments in leading-edge infrastructure and advanced tools and capabilities will go a long way toward enhancing the service we provide to our customers and improve our long-term operating efficiencies.”

The building includes an 18,000 square foot advanced rapid manufacturing center.

3D is in the processing of selling its Colorado facility for $7 million.
