RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Technology Association will collect donations for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina at its annual “21 Awards” program on Nov. 9.
Volunteers from the NCTA worked at the Food Bank on Oct. 27 to help stack food.
The NCTA is also encouraging member companies to organize their own food drives.
“NCTA welcomes this opportunity to address the very real problem of hunger in central and eastern North Carolina,” said Joan Myers, chief executive officer of NCTA. “In the 34 counties served by the Food Bank, over 400,000 people are at risk of hunger. Nearly 48 percent of those are children and the elderly.”
