DULUTH, GA. — DataPath, a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks, is acquiring ILC, a software firm, in an all-cash $21 million deal.

ILC, which is based in Atlanta, develops network management software for the monitoring, control and automating of hybrid communications networks.

ILC generated $12 million in revenue in 2005. Its “MaxView” product is used to manage satellite, broadcast, Internet Protocol, optical and other networks through one console. More than 600 MaxView systems are in use. ILC has some 400 customers, including the U.S. Army and Navy, PBS and NBC.
