CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Telecommunications provider US LEC is now offering its high-speed virtual private network service in the New York City area.

The addition of the New York market completes the planned extension of its MPLS VPN service across the entire company’s network, US LEC said.

MPLS refers to multi protocol label switching, a technology that enables providers to prioritize data traffic and thus mix data with different requirements such as Internet access, business applications and voice traffic.
