DURHAM, N.C. — Stewart Simonson, a former assistant secretary for public health emergency preparedness, has joined Constella Group, a provider of professional health services consulting and other services.
Simonson will be Constella’s vice president for global public health preparedness. In this position, Simonson will work with Constella clients on preparedness programs.
While with the federal government, Simonson oversaw the implementation of the “Project BioShield Act” of 2004 and also played a key role in the planning for dealing with a potential avian influenza pandemic.
Simonson previously served under Tommy Thompson, a former secretary of HHS who now chairs Constella’s advisory board.
