RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Affinergy, a developer of coating technology for medical devices, has signed a multi-year product development and licensing agreement with Synthes, an international medical device firm.

Affinergy, which utilizes technology developed at Duke University, will work with Synthes on projects related to spine, trauma and other markets.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
