ATLANTA, GA. — Cyworld, an online social networking platform owned by SK Communications, will utilize Internap Network Services for its new U.S. site.
Cyworld will base its operation in California.
SK Communications is a subsidiary of SK Telecom in South Korea.
Cyworld offers free homepages for users. They can utilize picture editing, hosting, sharing and interactive sketchbook tools.
“In the highly competitive U.S. social networking market, a premium user experience is essential,” said Henry Chon, chief executive officer of Cyworld USA. “Cyworld needed the most reliable, high-performance connectivity available for our entry into North America, and Internap provides the ideal platform for us to deliver applications that help nurture offline relationships in an interactive space.”
