RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Seventeen companies, most of which are located around the Triangle, have been added to the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s annual technology conference.

Tech 2006 is set for Oct. 11 at the McKimmon Center on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

Colin Angle, chief executive officer and co-founder of iRobot, has also been added to the list of featured speakers. Angle helped design robots used by NASA on a Mars mission in 1997. iRobot, which has sold more than 2 million robotic sweepers and other devices, was founded in 1990. Another 500 tactical mobile robots are being used by the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan.
