RESTON, VA. — XO Communications is rolling out fixed wireless broadband services in nine markets, including Atlanta.
XO works with Nextlink, a sister company that holds spectrum licenses for the local multipoint distribution system in 75 metro markets.
The service is designed to provide high-speed connectivity between 10-100 megabits per second over the last mile of access, helping companies avoid local loop telecom costs. It is offered on a line-of-site basis with an average range of 5 miles.
Other markets include Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Tampa and Washington D.C.
