MATTHEWS, N.C. — Twenty-six Florida counties have purchased an electronic voter identification system developed in part by Matthews-based Decision Support.
The system consists of electronic poll books. The counties plan to utilize them for 2006 elections.
Decision Support also worked with VR Systems, which is based in Florida, in developing the system. It is designed to automate the voter check-in process.
The system is also designed to prevent voter fraud by alerting poll workers if a voter had checked in previously.
