NORCROSS, GA. — SpectRx has received a $900,000 extension on a contract for development of a device to continuously monitor alcohol levels in a human body.

SpectRx has now received $3.2 million to date for the project, and another $500,000 could be awarded next year. The contract is with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

SpectRx coordinates the development program. Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is the primary subcontractor.
