RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — The Indus Entrepreneurs of the Carolinas (TiE) are setting up a special interest group, or SIG, focused on the biotechnology industry.

“This SIG has been introduced in response to the growing regional interest in life sciences and the desire expressed by current and potential members of TiE-Carolinas to avail of programs, mentoring, and networking opportunities that are more geared towards the life sciences industries,” the group said in a statement.

The SIG will include workshops, discussions, meetings and mentoring opportunities. Areas to be covered are: biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment, healthcare software and services, healthcare providers, hospitals, insurance, HMOs and other service providers.
