DAVIDSON, N.C. — UpSNAP, a provider of mobile search and other content services, is adding homeland security alerts to its service.
UpSNAP is partnering with Alerts USA to provide audio updates about disasters, public health threats and other information.
Information is gathered from such sources as the Department of Homeland Security, Centers for Disease Control, FEMA, and the FBI.
“Hurricane Katrina, terrorism, and health concerns like bird flu and mumps outbreak have elevated the public’s demand to stay informed,” said Tony Philipp, chief executive officer of UpSNAP. “Our homeland security alerts service ensures that consumers will receive audio updates on critical issues affecting the safety and security of the country.”
