CHARLOTTE…SunCom and the Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme have agreed to a two-year partnership in support of nonprofit organizations focusing on kids and education. Delhomme will serve as the primary supporter of SunCom’s community outreach program, SunCom Cares.
“Building a relationship with Jake was a natural fit for SunCom since we both have a commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs across the Carolinas,” said Emilio Echave, SunCom Wireless senior vice president of operations. “We have a shared desire to give back to our communities by supporting kids and educational programs, and we’re proud Jake will be a part of SunCom Cares.”
Delhomme will make his first appearance to promote SunCom Cares at the SunCom Cares Flag Football Game, where he will serve as an honorary coach along with two other Carolina Panthers players. Nearly 50 Boys & Girls Clubs members from across the Carolinas will play in the game on May 2 at the Panthers’ practice field in Charlotte.
“I’ve been a supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs for years and it’s a cause near and dear to my heart,” said Delhomme.
SunCom Wireless recently donated $120,000 to organizations across North and South Carolina that offer educational programs for young people, including nine Boys & Girls Clubs and one Junior Achievement chapter.
