The College of Computing at Georgia Tech is adding a chair for robotics with the endowment support of Kuka Robotics.

Henrik Christensen, an international robotics expert, was named to the post on Monday.

Kuka Robotics, which is based in Germany, endowed the post with $1.5 million.

Christensen is founding chairman of the European Robotics Research Network.

The Tech College of Computing offers a robotics curriculum as part of the Interactive and Intelligent Computing division.
