SAS is expanding its support to Sun Microsystems Solaris 10 operating systems running on high-end x64 servers.
X64 servers utilize Advanced Micro Devices and Intel 64-bit chips.
“We have heard from numerous, major customers around the world through letters and petitions requesting SAS support for the Solaris 10 OS on x64 servers,” said Stephen Borcich, vice president of partner marketing for Sun.
SAS said it would port its data integration, business intelligence and analytic intelligence software to the Solaris operating system.
