It’s official: Scientific-Atlanta is now part of Cisco Systems.

Cisco disclosed Monday morning that it had closed on the acquisition of the Atlanta-based firm that develops cable TV set-top boxes and video systems.

Cisco paid some $7 billion in the deal, which was announced in November.

“This acquisition will allow Cisco to offer a world class, end-to-end data, voice, video, and mobility solution for carrier networks and the digital home,” Cisco said in a statement.

Scientific-Atlanta becomes part of Cisco’s Routing and Service Provider Technology Group.
