If you believe the days of disruptive technology are over, think again.
Watch out for the mobile Wi-Fi phone, reported MarketWatch from the 3GSM mobile communications conference last week in Barcelona, Spain. (By the way, Cisco is a big manufacturer of Wi-Fi phones and gear.)
“The promise to customers is of lower bills, as calls made within range of a wireless hotspot are routed over the Internet and cost less,” MarketWatch said of the Wi-Fi enabled phones. “Enterprise users are also embracing the technology as many have voice-over IP infrastructure and Wi-Fi networks already in place.”
