Scientific-Atlanta, which is in the process of being acquired by Cisco, has acquired UB Video, a Canadian firm focused on compression technologies.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
UB Video is based in Vancouver.
The two companies have been working together for the past two years on advanced digital compression technology.
