Continental Broadband, a provider of broadband and other managed services, is deploying high-speed gear from Hatteras Networks.

Hatteras has developed Ethernet-speed technology capable of deliver data at 45 megabits-per-second speed over existing copper infrastructure.

Continental plans to deploy Hatteras’ HN4000 and HN400 gear in Chicago, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Boston, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Richmond and Hampton Roads VA.

“Our relationship with Hatteras Networks enables business customers without access to fiber to purchase full-featured, broadband Ethernet services in our target markets,” said Owen Griffin, chief operating officer of Continental Broadband. “The value proposition of Ethernet deployment over copper facilities using Hatteras Networks solutions is tremendously compelling.”
