The Atlanta metropolitan area ranks third on the “America’s 50 Hottest Cities” for business relocation or expansion as published by Expansion Management magazine.

Four North Carolina and two South Carolina metro areas also made the list.

From North Carolina, Charlotte-Gastonia ranked sixth, Raleigh-Cary 16th, Winston-Salem 34th and Greensboro-High Point 47th.

From South Carolina, Charleston ranked 25th and Greenville ranked 46th.

The magazine based its rankings on a survey of more than 80 site location consultants who were asked to list their top city choices. Factors considered as part of the rankings included incentive programs and the ease of working with local political and economic development officials.
