ARMONK,James Owens, chairman and chief executive officer of Caterpillar, Inc. has been elected to the board of directors of IBM as of March 1.
Owens holds a doctorate in economics from North Carolina State University.
Owens has worked at Caterpillar since 1972. He has been chairman and CEO since 2004.
