GFI, an international messaging and security applications firm with its U.S. operations based in Cary, has named Kurt Shaver as its vice president and general manager for Americas operations.
Shaver joins GFI from Websense. He has worked there since 2001 as director of the western region, North America. He has also worked for Monticello Corporation and AT&T Data Networks.
GFI customers include the Internal Revenue Service, US Armed Forces, AT&T, Siemens, Bosch, Southwestern Bell, US Government Printing Office, Shell Oil Lubricants, Kawasaki Construction Machinery Corp. of America, NASA, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
