SAS is providing more than $3.5 million in software, services, employee time and direct donations as part of a regional education initiative to help educate families affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
SAS is partnering with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System as part of an effort to encourage cooperation between K-12 school districts and higher education institutions.
As part of the effort, SAS is making its Curriculum Pathways online learning tools to educators and students free of charge. The program includes web-based resources in a wide variety of subjects that are linked to state and national standards.
SAS also said it wants to “catalyze” immediate projects affecting the education of displaced students and their families.
