Alan Dabbiere, founder of Manhattan Associates, has made an investment in Atlanta-based WanderingWiFi and is taking over as the company’s chairman.
Dabbiere made the investment in Wandering WiFi through his own private investment company known as Pegasys. The amount of his investment was not disclosed.
Wandering WiFi is a wireless technology solutions provider that has more than 400 customers. The company said the new funds would be used for product expansion and development.
“I’m excited about Wandering WiFi and what we can accomplish within this industry,” said Dabbiere. “It’s not about the Internet connection itself – everyone has that. It’s about enhancing the customer experience with customized applications and delivery of information to the consumer. By focusing on the needs of our customers and the level of service we provide, we plan to gain a lot of ground in 2006.”
Dabbiere founded Manhattan Associates, a supply-chain software company, in 1990 and took the firm public in 1998. He served as chairman through 2003.
