MARIETTA,Lawrence Downey, a 25-year veteran of the Belgium-based Solvay Group, is the new president and chief executive officer of Solvay Pharmaceuticals.
Downey replaces Harold Shlevin, who will join the global Solvay Group. Downey had bee president and CEO of Solvay Pharma in Canada since 1999.
In his new role, Downey will also serve as CEO and chairman of the wholly owned subsidiary Unimed Pharmaceuticals and president of the Organics LLC subsidiary.
